Cut flower Hints
It seems in gardening circles everyone has their favourite tricks for prolonging the life of cut flowers in the vase.
Recutting the stems under water, (its not what it sounds like, you dont need a snorkel and goggles) making a hole in the stem to let the air out, a bit of lemonade in the water, burning the stems.... the list is quite long, however,....
We can only go on what works for us
- Cut the blooms early in the morning and place immediately in a bucket of cold water.
- Place a teaspoonful of sugar in the vase water.
- Keep the flowers out of direct hot sun.
- Keep the room comfortably cool.
- Keep the flowers fresh...and enjoy
